A diver at a depth of 80 msw breathes a 8/92 heliox mix. What is the ppO2?
Absolute Pressure at 80 msw = 9 bar(a) Humans are always involved… so Pressure will always be absolute
Therefore Partial Pressure = 8% x 9b(a) ÷ 100 = 0.720 bar(a)
Very often we express pp in millibars. To find the mbar multiply the bar by 1000
= 0.72 bar(a) x 1000 = 720 mbar
